Anabala
Anabala is a multidisciplinary project concentrating on the sounds and cultures of Istanbul. Murat Ertel (“mostly a musician”) and Ceren Oykut, (“mostly a painter”) work as a duo, each transferring their artistic concentration onto the other. They create multi-disciplinary pieces and draw on aspects of humour, parody and surprise as foundational elements in their performances.
Anabala takes its name from a passage in central Istanbul. Throughout a month period in 2002, they recorded and made sounds all day at a shop in this passage and mixed them by night. Ultimately, they used all these mixes to compose their first album, a song which appeared in "ctrl-alt-del" (Istanbul -Maastricht, 2003). Anabala performed for the exhibition "Walking Istanbul, Notes from the Quarantine" and for "Trans_European Picnic: The Art and Media of Accession" hosted by V2_ Institute for the Unstable Media and kuda.org in Novi Sad through NOMAD. Anabala has also stared to collaborate with musicians, sound-artists and visual artists from Cologne, Germany and formed another group called K34 - Cologne -Istanbul Cultural Exchange Project.

يركز عمل انابيلا المتعدد الجوانب على اصوات وثقافات اسطنبول. فى هذا العمل يتعاون الفنانان مورات ايرتيل (موسيقى فى اغلب الأحيان) وشيرين اويكوت (رسام فى اغلب الأحيان) على نحو يتبادلان فيه الخبرات الفنية. ويخلق الاثنان اكثر من قطعة متعددة الجوانب تتمير بروح الدعابة والسخرية وايضا بالكثير من المفاجآت.
يعود الاسم انابيلا إلى طريق فى وسط اسطنبول. لمدة شهر فى عام 2002، قام الفنانان بتسجيل وانتاج الأصوات كل يوم فى محل يقع بهذا الطريق، وقضيا كل ليلة فى مزج الأصوات التى تم تسجيلها. وفى النهاية، قاما باستخدام كل الأصوات التى تم مزجها فى تلحين الألبوم الأول لهما، الذى يضم الأغنية التى تم تقديمها فى "كونترول-آلت-ديليت" (اسطنبول-ماستريخت، 2003). قدمت انابيلا اعمالها فى العرض "السير فى اسطنبول، ملاحظات من الكارانتينا" وايضا العرض "نزهة عبر اوربا: الفن والاعلام المفتوحان للجمهور" والذى استضافه معهد فى-تو للاعلام غير المستقر وكودا اورج فى نوفى ساد من خلال نوماد. وقد بدأت انابيلا فى التعاون مع الموسيقيين وفنانى الصوت والفنانين البصريين فى كولونيا بألمانيا وقامت ايضا بتشكيل فرقة اخرى تعرف باسم كى-34 فى سياق مشروع التبادل الثقافى بين كولونيا واسطنبول.
