Regine Basha                              

 Born in 1968 to Iraqi-Jewish parents, Basha has lived in Montreal, Los
 Angeles, Florence, New York and now divides her time between Austin and New
 York. She speaks French, Italian and Hebrew and comprehends Arabic only in the context of jokes, endearments, cooking, and arguments. Her curatorial
 career began in 1991 as Director of the non-profit space, The Saidye 
Bronfman Centre Gallery, in Montreal. In 1995, she entered the newly formed Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, New York. She has curated
 over 30 exhibitions with established and emerging artists, with a particular 
recent interest in realizing new models, enabling commissions and exploring 
specific contexts for art production, exhibition and dissemination. In New
 York from 1998-2002, she co-founded two curatorial collaboratives: Mayday
 Productions and The Brewster Project which worked with public spaces such as 
parks, hotel rooms and a migrant worker’s town on the periphery of the city. 
Recent exhibitions include: Treble, 2003 (Sculpture Center, New York), a 22
-artist group show that explored synaesthesia and sound as conceptual
 device. Without You I¹m Nothing: Daniel Bozhkov, Danica Phelps, Anton
 Vidokle & Julieta Aranda, 2003  (Platform Garanti, Istanbul) and The Gospel 
of Lead: Dario Robleto / Jeremy Blake, 2006   a dialogic exhibition
(Arthouse, Austin). In Austin she is consulting curator for Arthouse’s 
future renovation and program and is also co-founder and associate of 
Fluent~Collaborative, a contemporary art initiative for international 
exchanges and collaborations between artists and writers.
        

ولدت رجينا باشا عام 1968 لأبوين عراقيين يهوديين وعاشت فى مونتريال ولوس انجلوس وفلورنسا ونيويورك وهى حاليا تقسم وقتها بين اوستين ونيويورك. تتحدث باشا الفرنسية والايطالية والعبرية وبعض العربية الخاصة بمصطلحات الفكاهة والطبخ والحب والنزعات العائلية. بدأت باشا حياتها العملية كخبيرة انتقاء فنية فى 1991 حيث كانت مديرة للصالة غير الهادفة للربح فى مركز سايدى وبرونفان للفنون فى مونتريال. وفى 1995، التحقت بمركز دراسات الانتقاء الفنية فى كلية بارد فى نيويورك. وقد قامت بانتقاء اكثر من 30 عرضا مع فنانين قدامى وناشئين واخذت فى التركيز مؤخرا على النماذج الجديدة للانتاج الفنى فى سياق الانتاج والعرض والتوزيع. قامت فى الفترة 1998-2002 فى نيويورك بالمشاركة فى تكوين مشروعين للتعاون فى مجال الانتقاء الفنى: شركة انتاج مايداى ومشروع بروستر، وكلتاهما قامتا بالتعاون مع اماكن عرض عامة فى الحدائق وغرف الفنادق ومدن العمال واطراف المدينة.

ومن العروض التى قدمتها مؤخرا:
تريبل، 2003 (مركز النحت، نيويورك)، وهو عرض يضم اعمال 22 فنان ويستكشف التكوين والصوت كأدوات لتكوين المفاهيم. بدونك أنا لا شىء: دانييل بوزكوف، دانيسا فيلبس، انتون فيدوكل، جولييتا اراندا، 2003 (صالة جارانتى، اسطنبول) وانجيل الرصاص: داريو روبيلتو وجيريمى بليك، 2006، وهو عرض يقوم على التفاعل من خلال الحوار (آرتهاوس، اوستن).
فى اوستن، تعمل باشا كخبيرة استشارية فى انتقاء الفنون مع برنامج التجديد والمستقبل لآرتهاوس. وهى ايضا مؤسسة مشاركة وعضو اساسى فى فلوينت كولابوراتيف، مبادرة الفن المعاصر التى تهتم بالتبادل الدولى والتعاون بين الفنانين والكتاب.
