Staalplaat Soundsystem

Staalplaat Soundsystem is a Berlin-based music label and platform for the creation of experimental sound, installation and performance art. Since its inception in the early 80s, Staalplaat has performed machine orchestras and exhibited installation pieces internationally. Founder Geert-Jan Holbijn and Staalplaat artists have also held workshops and lectures on topics related to sound art, technology and culture and art and politics. Staalplaat is interested in “do-it-yourself” culture and work that appropriates and redefines familiar technology and environments in terms of popular access to the creative potential of the everyday.

 

ستالبلات ساوندسيستم هى شركة موسيقى مقرها برلين تهتم بترويج التجارب الصوتية والتجهيزات والفن الأدائى. منذ تم انشاؤها فى أوائل الثمانينات، قامت ستالبلات بتقديم اوركسترات آلية وعرضت اعمالا تجهيزية على مستوى العالم. وقام مؤسس الشركة جيرت-جان هوبيجن بالتعاون مع فنانى ستالبلات بتنظيم ورش عمل واعطاء محاضرات حول الفن الصوتى والتكنولوجيا والثقافة والفن والسياسة. تهتم ستالبلات بثقافة "اصنع بنفسك" وبالأعمال التى تستخدم التكنولوجيا المعتادة بعد تحويرها، كما تركز على تأثير البيئة على قدرة الجمهور على المشاركة فى الابداع بشكل يومى.
